Abstract (EN)
In this study, mixing characteristics of two water jets with different temperature has been investigated experimentally. The jets are located parallel to each other in a shallow channel. The channel is insulated and the flow is discharged from channel via a small pipe. Experiments was performed for different inclination angle of the channel (0 ? ? ? 90 ) and different nozzle diameters (5 mm and 10 mm). In the experiments, square and circle shaped passive elements are located to see the effects of thermal mixing. Results are obtained for different temperature difference between hot and cold jets as ?T = 15 and 20 C.In the performed study, it is obtained that square and circle shaped passive elements decrease the mixing efficiency but they make positive effect on mixing efficiency. Square shaped passive element shows better performance for thermal mixing than that of circle one. The lowest value for thermal mixing is obtained for ? = 0. Thermal mixing is increased with increasing of channel inclination angle. Thermal efficiency increases with increasing of jet velocity for all studied parameters.
