Abstract (EN)

Distribution of income is very important in terms of a national economy as much as per capita income. In modern world there is not any country which has equal income. In some countries the distribution of income is more equitable while in some countries it is unjust. It is unacceptable that a small minority in the society receives large share of the national income, while the majority of the population receives very small share of income. The fair income distribution means that acceptable difference between the social segments rather than an equal distribution. Since a more equitable income distribution is one of the main objectives of the economic policies, the factors determining the income distribution should be analysed in detail. This study investigates the relationship between education and income distribution in Turkey. We analyse the income distribution of groups with different educational levels and determine a strong relationship between income distribution and educational level. We conclude that equal opportunities in education will be a fairer distribution of income. Key words: Income Distribution of Turkey, Gini Coefficient, Education of Turkey.
