Abstract (EN)
This study consists of three chapters. In this study, the frictionless contact problem for an elastic strip under a rigid punch is considered. The rigid punch is applied to top surface of isotropic and homogenous strip with height .In chapter 1, some studies on the contact problems and singular integral equations are reported. In chapter 2, two contact problems are defined and corresponding integral equations are constructed with appropriate boundary value conditions and governing equations of elasticity theory. The integral equations are of the first type with singular kernels. The resulting equations are solved by using series method for a relatively large thickness of strip. In chapter 3, the interaction of elastic strip with punch having a base in the form of horizontal plane, inclined plane and paraboloid is considered, and the governing equations are solved for different values of the relative thickness. The numerical results are tabulated for illustrative purposes.
