Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) of Elazığ province research on fauna and systematics

This thesis study is based on adult fruit flies collected in field studies conducted in Elazığ province between 2022 and 2023. The samples collected from the field were brought to Gaziantep University, Department of Biology, Entomology Laboratory and their preparations were made. As a result of the study, 13 genera from 3 subfamilies (Myopitinae, Tephritinae and Terellinae) and 39 species (Myopites apicatus, Urophora affinis, Urophora aprica, Urophora cuspidata, Urophora jaceana, Urophora mauritanica, Urophora phalolepidis, Urophora quadrifasciata, Urophora solstitialis, Urophora terebras, Acanthiophilus helianthi, Campiglossa bidentis, Campiglossa producta, Ensina sonchi, Euaresta bullans, Sphenella marginata, Tephritis acanthiophilopsis, Tephritis divisa, Tephritis fallax, Tephritis nigricauda, Tephritis postica, Tephritis recurrens, Tephritomyia lauta, Trupanea amoena, Trupanea stellata, Chaetorellia acrolophi, Chaetorellia carthami, Chaetorellia conjuncta, Chaetorellia jaceae, Chaetorellia loricata, Chaetorellia succinae, Orellia falcata, Orellia stictica, Terellia gynaecochroma, Terellia luteola, Terellia nigripalpis, Terellia serratulae, Terellia virens and Terellia uncinata) belonging to these genera were detected. Morphological descriptions of all taxa detected in Elazığ province were made and regional identification keys were prepared. Body, wing and aculeus photographs of all identified species are presented.
