Abstract (EN)
PURPOSE: The aim is to learn patients? knowledge about anesthesia and anxiety cause and to measure themMATERIAL AND METHOD: 500 patients which consult CBÜ Anesthesiology and Reanimation polyclinic for elective surgery between June 2011-December 2011 dates, included this study after ethical committee approval is taken. The data is achieved by using a questionnaire with 15 questions and STAI= State- Trait Anxiety Inventory. Patients were seen at the polyclinic and wanted to fill the questionnaire.FINDINGS: Women have more anxiety then men. When education level is high anxiety is much more. The most common concerns about anesthesia were oversleep oneself after surgery(%34,4), have a pain during surgery(%39), nausea-vomitting(%18,8)RESULT: We should increase the education level of patients for increase the knowledge of anesthesia. There must be more study for popularise the anesthesia to patients.KEY WORDS: Survey, Anesthesia,Preoperative anxiety
