Abstract (EN)

For the aim for forecasting stability and remedial actions in electrical power systems it is crucial of using static analysis, modal analysis, power flow analysis singular value decomposition and bifurcation analysis methods. The Q-Vcurve method has been adopted by many utilities because of its advantages on convergenceand direct relationship with reactive compensation. Bifurcation analysis is mainly used along with Q-V curve analysis.In this thesis, voltage collapse formation phases induced by a dynamic non-linear and intense reactive power demanded load, have been investigated on a three-bus power system. Formation of hopf bifurcation, period doubling bifurcation and saddle node bifurcation on Q-V curve have been discussed with their effects on physical system dynamics along with reactive power demand value and initial condition of power system parameters. By the sight of sensitivity for initial condition rule for chaotic systems, formation of cascading period orbits and doublings has also been traced near bifurcation points phase by phase. In remedial action part of this thesis, it has been demonstrated that procedures of reactive power injections in heavily reactive loaded busbar with tracking formation of periodic orbits on Q-V curves, eliminate viable bifurcations and change them with fewer viable ones. After applying this remedial action scheme on heavily reactive loaded busbar, loadability level of mentioned busbar was enhanced into larger levels. With holding detailed cross-check analyses for effects of bifurcation formation on Q-V curve, It has been proved that applying the algorithms for dynamic detection of bifurcation points used in this thesis, strengthens capabilities of multi-stability assistant tools for short-term and long-term voltage stability analysis in electrical power systems.
