ANALYSIS OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE PROPAGATION WITHFINITE DIFFERENCE TIME DOMAIN METHODS(M.Sc. Thesis)Safiye YALÇINGAZ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTIn this study, Finite Difference Time Domain, one of the most useful methods isinvestigated in detail. The mathematical and physical characteristics of thismethod firstly created by K. Yee in 1966 are represented and the necessaryformulations for numerical analysis are formed. It gives information aboutboundary conditions, parameter selection and stability criteria about FDTDmethod and also explain the near field transformation for analyses on distantobservation points.As practical experience, using FDTD method for the electromagnetic wavediffusion problems, wave motions at different environments are analysed andsimulations which has one or two dimensions about them are realized.Science Code : 905.1.053Key Words : Finite Difference, FDTDPage Number : 107Adviser : Assistant Prof. Cem NAK BOĞLU
