Abstract (EN)
Banks are in constant development to increase their current profitability while providing their customers with quick and easy access to products through electronic banking products. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of electronic banking applications on banking sector profitability. In the study, two different models were created in which return on assets and return on equity were dependent variables. The number of active internet banking users, the number of mobile banking active users, the number of call center employees and the number of branches were used as independent variables in the models. ARDL bounds test was used using quarterly data for the period 2014-2021. The findings obtained in the study show that the increase in the number of active internet banking users and the number of call center employees positively affects the return on assets and return on equity of the banking sector.
