Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the effects of land use/cover type on some soil characteristics in Eleskirt District of Ağrı Province. taken from certain points from the depth of the soil 0-30 cm (homogeneously mixed). The samples were analyzed and the results of the analyzes were evaluated. According to the results, the average organic matter and total nitrogen content of the soils was 2,79 % and 0,139 % respectively, and the highest values were measured in meadow areas (4,04 % and 0,20 %). The average available phosphorus content was 1,93 kg da-1, the highest available phosphorus values were determined in the cultivation areas of sunflower and sugar beet (2,41 kg da-1). The highest pH value (7, 77) was measured in natural meadow areas. It was determined that the average electrical conductivity value was 131, 56 and the average lime content was 4,50 %. The highest changeable Ca content was determined in sugar beet areas (13044 ppm), the highest potassium content (492 ppm), magnesium content (2769ppm), sodium content (675 ppm) in sunflower planting areas. The highest values in terms of aggregate stability were measured in the natural meadow areas and the lands where perennial forage crops were cultivated, and the lowest values were measured in the cultivated lands of sunflower and sugar beet. Mean clay, silt and sand percentages were measured as 38, 06; 24, 51; 37, 41 respectively. It is determined that most of the sampled soils are in clayey and clayey loam class. Soil organic matter content, soil nitrogen content, available phosphorus content, pH, exchangeable Ca and Mg, aggregate stability values, clay percentages differ significantly (p<0,05) depending on land use/cover type. No statistically significant relationship was found between the other features examined and land use/cover type.
