Abstract (EN)

Energy requirements for the developing countries in particular are covered from coal based on thermal power plants. Disposal of a growing amount of waste from thermal power plants such as fly and bottom ash creates environmental problems. The amount of coal ash is also increased due to lower recycling and utilization rate. There are many studies about fly ash recycling and using. Fly ash could be used as a raw material for zeolite synthesis in order to alumina and silica components they have. In the scope of the thesis, zeolite material was obtained from coal fly ash by indirect method from Tunçbilek Power Plant. Five different parameters such as NaOH/Fly ash (1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 g/g), fusion temperature (350, 450, 550, 650oC), fusion time (0.5, 1, 2 hour), aging time (0.5, 1, 2, 4 hours), aging temperature (25, 40, 50, 70, 80, 90 °C), crystallization temperature (90°C) and time (8, 16, 24 hours) were determined and the effect of these parameters on zeolite synthesis was investigated. Furthermore, an aging step was performed by ultrasound probe and then followed by gradual hydrothermal synthesis reaction. Comparing the both methods that it is aimed to short total reaction time.
