The Rihla of The Andalusian Muhaddith

As a result of the scholarship activities that started in al-Andalus immediately after the conquest, important studies were written in the field of hadith. One of the most important elements that contributed to the development of hadith in al-Andalus is the rihla of hadith students from al-Andalus to the East in the Islamic territory. The Andalusian hadith students who had traveled to the East as the center of scholarship, met with the most important hadith scholars of the period and collected the hadiths from them and then carried these scholarship to al-Andalus. The rihla which was launched in the 2nd hijri century and were intensively done in the 3rd and 4th centuries, are of great importance in terms of providing the scholarship connection between al-Andalus and the Eastern Islamic world, as well as the contribution made to the formation and development of the hadith science in al-Andalus. In this study, it is aimed to study the rihla of the Andalusian hadith scholars in the scholarship centers, the period and the types and also the economic, social and political factors which contributed to those rihla. In addition, another aim of the study is determining the contribution of the rihla to the formation of the Andalusian Hadith School.
