Industry 4.0 and possible effects of industry 4.0 tegnologies on business functions

The economic and social impacts left by the industrial revolutions throughout the history have reached the world over time. When we look at the technological advances without slowing down since the beginning of industrialization, we see the Industry 4.0 formation, which is also described as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Industry 4.0 formation is the product of a strategic transformation process resulting from the need to keep up with rapid and comprehensive technological developments and maintain competitive advantage in production. It is important for businesses to keep up with this strategic transformation, where production is made independent from human, and the physical and digital areas are intertwined In this study, the emergence process of Industry 4.0 and the structure of the technologies it contains are explained and by using this information, possible effects of industry 4.0 technologies on business functions are revealed.
