Abstract (EN)

Due to the increasing need for energy and the difficulties in constructing new transmission lines, existing transmission lines must be operated with high efficiency and reliability. Instead of establishing new transmission lines or production facilities, the performance of the power system is increased by using Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) devices with lower cost. Thus, more efficient use of existing transmission lines is ensured. FACTS controllers offer technical solutions to answer operational challenges. These solutions are; continuous control of power, safe loading of transmission lines within thermal limits and full capacity utilization, minimizing system losses by relieving overloaded transmission lines and increasing system stability. Due to the high cost of FACTS controllers, it is not possible to add them to every busbar. For this reason, a limited number of FACTS controllers must be placed in an optimal location in power systems. MATLAB program was used to model the power system and FACTS devices. In the study, system voltage stability and power flow were tested using FACTS devices to automate and optimize power networks that enable the power system to increase stability and reduce the possibility of system crashes under severe instabilities. According to the test results, before using the FACTS device and when we applying a fault at various points in the network the instantaneous voltage level was 5.29 pu in some busbars, the voltage stability was observed to be increased by reaching 1 pu using FACTS devices. At the same time, the load of the second transformer was reduced by about 100 MW. The graphics obtained as a result of the test were interpreted and details presented.
