Abstract (EN)
Adhesive joints are widely used in automotive, aerospace, construction, electronics and many industrial fields. Proper preparation of materials, choice of adhesive and use of proper bonding technique are all important factors to achieve a successful bonding joint. In this study, the tensile behaviors of double-lap adhesive joints with different nanoparticles were investigated experimentally. In the study, DP460 was used as the adhesive material, AA5754 aluminum alloy was used as the bonding specimen, and glass epoxy composite material was used as the patch material. Nanoparticles, including Al2O3, CuO, MgO, and TiO2, were added to the adhesive material at weight percentages of 2%, 4%, and 6%. Double patched bonding joints were prepared with reinforced and non-reinforced adhesives. The effects of nanoparticle reinforcement on the tensile force of the prepared samples were investigated. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the tensile force of the nanoparticle reinforced adhesive joints increased significantly compared to the non-reinforced adhesive joints. The highest tensile force was obtained in the MgO-reinforced adhesive joint reinforced at 6% by weight. surface damages of all test specimens after tensile rupture were evaluated in macro dimension, adhesion and cohesion damages were determined. SEM images of the rupture surfaces of the test specimens with the highest and lowest tensile forces were taken after the tensile tests and evaluations were made based on previous studies in terms of damage types.
