Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between attachment styles and future expectation and self-control levels in adolescents. In addition, this study aimed to investigate whether adolescents 'attachment style, self-control level, and future expectation differed significantly according to different demographic variables - adolescents' gender, class level, type of school, number of siblings, academic achievement, parental attitude, etc. The participants of the study consist of 3 Government High Schools and 9, 10, 11 and 12th Grade Students in 1 Private High School in 2018-2019 Academic Year. In the research, Three-dimensional Attachment Styles Scale, Self-control Skills Scale in Adolescents, and Future Expectancy Scale for Adolescents were used as data collection tools. The data of the study were evaluated by correlation, t-test and one-way analysis of variance. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 22.0. As a result of the research, there was no significant difference between adolescents 'attachment styles, future expectancy and self-control level according to gender, age, class levels, number of siblings, parents' education level, parental attitudes, family income and parental level. There was a significant difference between the future expectation and total attachment score and the type of school. In addition, it was observed that there was a significant correlation between the total score of the adolescents and the class levels.
