Abstract (EN)
This research has been conducted so as to investigate the relationship between the perfectionism and sense of humor in adolescents. The participants to this research are composed of 630 adolescents (9.10.11.12. class) who continue their high school education in Harran, Şanlıurfa.Within this research, to measure the level of perfectionism of adolescents, Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS) is used, to measure the sense of humor, Adolescent Humor Scale which was developed by Oral (2004) is utilized. Apart from these scales, to access to the demographic information of adolescents, Personal Information Form that has been developed by the researcher is used.Correlation analysis is used to test whether there is a meaningful relationship between the sub-scale points of Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale and sence of humor. t Test was utilized to analyze whether adolescents? sense of humor alters according to their gender, and whether there is a meaningful difference between the perfectionism and sub-scale points in accordance with the gender. One-dimensional variance analysis was used to scrutinize whether the perfectionism levels of adolescents and their sub-scale points change according to education level of their mothers, education of level of their fathers, the number of siblings, their sequence of birth, and whether senses of humor of adolescents alter according to education level of their mothers, education of level of their fathers, the number of siblings, their sequence of birth. The results of the research demonstrate that there is no relationship between the perfectionizm and sence of humor of adolescents (p>0.01).Female adolescents `adjustment sub-scale points are slightly higher than the males?. There is also an meaningful statistical difference between the male and female adjustment sub-scale points (p<0.05). One could not find any meaningful difference between too much interest in mistakes by female and male adolescents, suspicion on behaviours, family expectations, family criticisims, personal standards and sub-scale points. One, could also, not find any meaningful distinction between the education degree of the mother of the adolescents, education degree of the father of the adult?s, number of siblings, the order of birth sequence, too much interest in mistakes, suspicion on behaviours, family expectations, family criticisms and personal standards sub-scale points (p>0.05).Futhermore, there is no found meaning differentiation between adolescents sex, education level of mother?s, education level of father?s, number of siblings, the order of birth sequence and sense of humour (p>0.05).There is an important relationship between the adolescents sense of humour and too much interest in mistakes sub-scale points with a level of 0.114 and the relationship with the family expectations sub-scale points, there found an affirmative and low level, yet important relationship with a degree of 0.116 (within the degree of 0.01 meaningful level). Since the relationship coefficient is positive, the more increase in sense of humour of adolescents, the more increase one can observe in the sub-scale points of adolescents interest in mistakes and family expectations (p<0.01).There is also a low level, yet important relationship between adolescents sense of humour and order, family criticisms, suspicion on behaviours, personal standards (within the degree of 0.05 meaningful level). Because the coefficient of the correlation is close to zero, it can be concluded that there is no vital relationship between the aforementioned variables (p>0.01)
