Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to identify the stress factors that affect employees negatively and is to investigate the effect of stress on job satisfaction.This study composed of three main parts. First and second parts consist of theoretical framework which explains the concepts of stress and job satisfaction. In the third part, a survey aiming to identify the effect of employees? stress levels on job satisfaction in a public organization is examined.Related to the aim of this study, a questionnaire consisting of four parts has been prepared. The first part includes questions about the demographic variables of the employees (age, gender, marital status, education and working period). The second part of the questionnaire consists of 38 statements related to organizational stress resources to determine employees? stress level. The third part is composed of 18 statements related to job satisfaction dimension to specify employees? job satisfaction level.The survey carried out with 155 employees working in shifts at Air Traffic, Air Information and Air Communication departments of Ankara Esenboğa Airport. The research results were evaluated by using frequency spectrum according to variables? feature, the correlation analysis, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskall-Wallis H test which are involved in SPSS 12.0 software.The results of application showed that there is a negative relationship between employees? stress level and job satisfaction, that is, an increase in stress level decreases job satisfaction. In regard to the comparison between departments, the significantly high stress level of air traffic controllers has been observed. These findings are in line with the expectations. In addition, a relationship between demographic variables and employees? stress level and job satisfaction level has not been found.Key Words1-Stress2-Job Satisfaction3-Sources of stress4-Employees5-Air Traffic Controllers
