Adjectives in Old Turkish

In this work named "Adjectives in Old Turkish Language", adjective category is examined based on written language materials which belong to Köktürk, Uygur and Kırgız periods.This work consists of three parts as the first one adjectives by origin, the second one adjectives by structure and the third one adjectives by functions.In introduction part of our work, historical information about Köktürks, Uygurs and Kırgızs who are considered as agents of their era is given as a brief summary after a description of Old Turkish Period.Information to introduce these tribes whose the written texts used in the thesis are was given in the same part of the work. The other title of this part is "Adjective Category". In this part, as giving place to examinations on description of the term adjective based on works about grammer of Turkish Language and as giving place to discussions around adjective category, the most convenient point of view according to us is tried to be presented.While composing the other parts of our work, a version which is making up the adjective part of a work prepared by Zeynep Korkmaz ?Türkiye Türkçesi Grameri? is generally based.In the first part, adjectives detected in the Old Turkish texts examined are classified by origin. The adjectives placed in this part are presented with contexts in the texts.In the second part, nouns taking on adjective roles found in the examined texts are sorted by structure. In this part, in addition to derivation ways of this nouns, highlighted and different uses about syntax are also mentioned.As for the third part, it?s tried to be found that using features in terms of classification, dimition, intensification of adjectives which are classified by function with two titles qualification and determination.This work ends with an estimation of language materials examined ?n the way of origin, structure and function.
