Abstract (EN)
In this thesis; it is aimed that aggegate of pumice that is natural resource and the use of boron waste which is a valuable industrial waste, as a substitution material in different proportions (1%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9%). In the result of working; In the physical and mechanical aspects, it is aimed to obtain a with superior property, water-resistant and lightweight material acording to conventional light concrete. The thesis study was carried out in three stages. In the first stage, 90% pumice aggegate and 10% sand (to increase compressive strength) (Reference sample) were used for lightweight concrete production. In the second stage, substitution lightweight concrete sample was produced that using to 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% boron waste to the pumice aggegate. At the final stage, experiments were carried out to determine the physical and mechanical properties of lightweight concrete samples. For the determination of mechanical properties; tensile splitting strength and compressive strength tests were performed. In order to determine physical differences, specific gavity, water-saturated unit weight, capillarity and porosity tests were performed. In the result of working; It was determined that improvement of the physical and mechanical properties of the material with the increase of boron waste. The best result was obtained by 9% boron waste substitution. The use of boron wastes, which are hazardous to the environment, in the construction sector will contribute to sustainability by recycling the boron wastes.
