Abstract (EN)

In this thesis is aimed to evaluate the activities included in the 7th grade mathematics textbook in terms of activity design principles. 90 activities in the textbook which was published by Ministry of National Education in 2009 for 7th grades examined through documentary analysis. For data analysis descriptive analysis was conducted. According to the result of this study, it was determined that activities in the textbook was generally designed compatible with some principles such as aim of activity, prior knowledge, required materials, the roles of student, assessment and evaluation. However, it was determined that classroom management, multiple start point and student misconceptions and difficulties which are important in activity design were not considered adequately. In the new national curriculum it is aimed that learning areas to be enriched with activities. Therefore, activities in the textbooks which are designed according to all activity design principles will increase quality of learning, and contribute meaningful learning.
