Abstract (EN)
ChatGPT is a large language model. This model uses artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to generate human like language and responses, even to complex questions. This thesis investigates the reliability of ChatGPT as a source of scientific information on dental implant surgery. The main aim is to evaluate ChatGPT-generated content by comparing it to expert responses. 10 most frequently asked questions about dental implant surgery was selected from Google Analytics and answered by both ChatGPT and two dental specialists. These responses were then assessed using the Chatbot Usability Questionnaire (CUQ). The mean score was 89.7. The findings (89.7) indicate that while ChatGPT provides generally accurate and useful information, it lacks the depth and critical nuances often emphasized by experts. ChatGPT is capable of generating broadly correct and relevant information in response to the selected questions. However, its responses sometimes miss the expert-level detail that can be crucial for patient care. The study also highlights the strengths and weaknesses of using AI in patient education. While ChatGPT's ability to generate immediate and accessible information is valuable, it is evident that AI alone cannot replace the nuanced understanding and personalized care provided by human experts. For instance, the AI was found to be less effective in addressing complex clinical scenarios and providing tailored advice based on individual patient histories. This underscores the necessity of combining AI technology with expert insights to enhance the reliability and completeness of the information provided to patients. The thesis suggests that while ChatGPT can be a valuable initial educational tool, it should be supplemented with detailed, expert-provided information to ensure comprehensive patient care. Future research should explore the integration of AI tools with expert knowledge to further improve the quality of patient education and support in dental implant surgery. The findings emphasize the potential benefits of AI in augmenting human expertise rather than replacing it.
