Abstract (EN)
Home health care is a low-cost alternative to traditional inpatient care and anappealing alternative for developing countries such as Turkey, wherefinancial resources for health care are particularly scarce. To gain insight intothe concerns of physicians regarding this possibility, a survey wasadministered to 254 physicians sampled at a large state hospital in capital ofTurkey. The results of the study indicate that 35,4% of the participants thinkthat home health care in general is not appropriate for Turkey. The results ofthe study suggest that home health care is seen as an economicallyappealing but somewhat medically controversial area that nonetheless showspromise for future development in Turkey and other similarly developingcountries.Key Words: home health care, hospital based home care, cardiac patients.
