Abstract (EN)
In this study wastewater treatment by mechanical aeration is examined. Mechanical stirrer is used for the experiment. By changing stirring time and height of the stirrer in constant stirring velocity; the variation of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), pH, Nitrojen (N) and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) parameters are compared. Short term stirring in the bottom of the pool at low concentration of DO causes further decrease for the BOD and COD parameters. It is thought that for the high concentration of the DO conditions stirring time ad stirrer position do not have an important effect on the system.
