Abstract (EN)

Colonialism is a political, social, and economic system that derives power from economic domination. It has been practiced for many years, especially by the West, on those positioned below it. Although the colonial system derives its power from economic domination, from a broader perspective, the issue is not limited to the economy. The system has also significantly impacted cultural, psychological, and inter-mass relations. Frantz Fanon is a thinker and psychiatrist who approaches the system in a multidimensional way, addressing the elements that ensure the continuity of the system from different perspectives. Fanon both experienced colonialism and actively participated in the Algerian struggle for independence. He analyzes the alienation from one's identity and the sense of inferiority the colonial system inflicts on the colonized people. Through his existential process, he reveals the deep destruction that colonialism causes in human consciousness and identity. This study will analyze the relationship between psychology and culture in the context of colonialism in light of Fanon's thoughts from an anthropological perspective. The impact of anthropology on the colonial system, the effects of colonialism on human psychology, and Fanon's analysis of colonialism will be examined through his works and ideas. First, the concept of colonialism and its spheres of influence will be focused on. Then, Fanon's ideas on colonialism will be discussed under headings, and finally, Fanon's areas of influence will be focused on. A literature review will be conducted with the historical ethnography method of qualitative research. Fanon is a thinker who influenced many societies and environments academically and practically during and after the periods when he wrote his works and struggled for decolonization against the colonial system. Fanon's intellectual and literary life is still an essential source for illuminating many phenomena and events today. Therefore, rethinking Fanon will open the doors to different perspectives.
