Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of different sewing types and different laundering types to the seam strength were researched. Furthermore, sewing thread consumption and operation times belonging to different sewing types were analysed. In the research, denim fabric was chosen as material. Experiment samples were sewed with 100 % spun polyester sewing thread. In the scope of research, 4 different sewing types, 9 different laundering processes were determined. Laundering processes were planned as 3 repetition group. Instron Tensile Testing Machine was used for the seam strength measurements and in the experiments 5 samples were measured in each repetition group. Variance analysis was done for evaluating experiment results in statistically respect. When the investigation results were evaluated, it was found that seam strength variation in between repetation groups is not important in statistically respect. In the meantime, it was seen that the effects of sewing types and laundering types to the seam strength are important in statistically respect. By the research scope, it was observed that between the researched 4 sewing types the most advantaged seam type in respect of sewing thread consumption, operation time and seam strength values is felled seam.
