Abstract (EN)

When angular objects with sharp lines are exposed to a flow, the flow becomes mixed, unstable and turbulent in the posterior region of the body. The velocity, direction and shape of the flow are the determining factors in the velocity zones and pressure differences on the surfaces. Today, the old, single-floored detached settlements in modern cities have been replaced by large multi-floored sites and commercial buildings. This change not only changed the appearance of the city but also played a role in the change of local winds. This wind change creates a disadvantage to indoor air conditioning from time to time and increases the energy need and also brings comfort conditions under the standards in outdoors. Some building designs that can be produced by considering the relationship between the building geometries and the winds will eliminate these disadvantages and will reveal the potential of generating energy through wind turbines to be placed between the buildings. In this study, experimental studies on wind flow between different sample building geometries placed in the channel will be made. 7.5cm x 7.5cm x 7.5cm dimensions cube and 15cm x 7.5cm x 7.5cm dimensions rectangular prism models are made of plexiglass material array configurations will be experimentally observed in different fluid numbers in PIV mechanism in Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Advanced Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. According to the obtained data, ideas about real building arrangements will be discussed. Key Words: Flow characteristics, PIV, wind analysis, buildings
