Abstract (EN)

Thus, to pave way to the manufacture of subsequent transportation infrastructure, this study assesses the performance of railway concrete sleepers incorporating various GFRCs. Its purpose is to obtain the strength characteristics of classical prestressed concrete sleepers to offer genuinely nationally available products at a lower cost. Part of the study, the test samples including felt fabric, glass fibre reinforced woven fabric, staple fibre additives and circular rods were utilised. The outcome of tests and analyses showed that these samples failed prestressed concrete sleepers, however, the GFRC Bars come out to be the most efficient with the best benefit cost ratio. Presumably, further studies of these bars' size, positioning at the time of concrete slabs formation, and concrete-proportions ratios will help to develop even more cost-effective, durable domestic goods for the transportations facilities of the future. In TCDD Afyon Concrete Sleeper factory, kind of B70 type concrete sleeper moulds and cube sample preparation moulds for the study were provided, and concrete sleepers and test samples with different reinforcements were obtained. In this research, pressure tests and three-point support tests were carried on these samples. The performances of the generated samples were compared to the B70 type railway concrete sleepers made from factory. The manufactured concrete sleepers and the cube samples, therefore, used the same concrete mix in their preparation. These research were deemed to be a significant precursor to the formulation of stronger and cheaper concrete for sleepers in railroads.
