Abstract (EN)
Evaluation of Clinical Performance of Different Implant Abutment Connection Types Purpose: The aim of this thesis study is to retrospectively evaluate the survival rates, success and failure situations of implants with screw and conical lock implant- abutment connection designs applied in a certain period of time. The long- term clinical success of dental implants may be affected by a number of factors related to the implant- abutment connection. This study aims to examine the impact of the implant- abutment connection on clinical outcomes by comparing the long- term performance of these two different connection designs. Materials and Methods: This thesis study included 137 patients and 579 implants who applied between 2017 and 2018 and received at least one implant and prosthetic treatment in the Department of Prosthodontics. Patients whose prosthetic treatment was completed were recalled for clinical and radiographic controls. Clinically; gingival index, plaque index, pocket depth measurements were made and complications in prosthetic restorations were evaluated. Marginal bone loss was evaluated radiographically. The conical locking connection implant group and screw connection implant groups were examined according to these parameters. Results: In the study, failure was observed in 6 of the conical locking connection implants and 2 of the screw connection implants during the 5 year (60 months) follow-up period. When marginal bone loss was evaluated according to groups, more marginal bone loss was detected in screw-connected implants. Conclusion: Differences in marginal bone loss and complications were detected in implants with different implant abutment connections. Keywords: Dental implants, Implant abutment connection, Conical locked implant abutment connection.
