Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to experimentally investigate the differences between the fatigue strengths of S355J2 structural steel joined by metal active gas, tungsten inert gas and electric arc welding methods with different root gap parameters and to establish a connection. For this purpose, nine kinds of specimens welded by three different welding types and three different welding methods and non-welded specimens were tested by means of a rotational bending fatigue device and the welding methods and parameters were compared with each other. As a result of the studies, when the fatigue strengths of the specimens joined at the same parameters were examined, the Mag welding method gave higher fatigue strength values on average than the other two methods. Although the three different welding methods examined in this study have their own advantages and disadvantages, the use of Mag welding method in structural or machine parts that will be exposed to fatigue stresses will provide a better fatigue life according to the experimental studies.
