Investigation of the remineralization efficiency of different remineralization agents and the effect of different cavity disinfectants on the microshear bond strength of glass ionomer restorations

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the remineralizing effect of two different remineralization agents on chemically demineralized tooth surfaces, and to evaluate the effect of restorations made on the cavity disinfectants used to disinfect the surfaces used with these agents on the microshear bond strength. The laser fluorescence method (diagnodent) was used to evaluate the remineralization efficiency, and the micro shear bond strength test was used to evaluate the bond strength. Thirty decay-free human premolar teeth were collected. The buccal surfaces of the teeth were abraded until reaching the superficial dentine and smoothed with 500 grit sandpaper. The created surfaces were measured with diagnodent and the values (Ö1) were recorded. Artificial caries were formed by keeping them in demineralization solution at 37 ° C for one week and their diagnodent values (Ö2) were remeasured. Then, the samples were randomly divided into 3 groups, silver diamine fluoride, acidulated phosphate fluoride and saline were applied to the groups and subjected to the pH cycle protocol for 14 days. Diagodent values were measured at the end of one week (Ö3) and at the end of the second week (Ö4). Each group was randomly divided into two equal groups, and chlorhexidine gluoconate and sodium hypochlorite were applied to the groups as cavity disinfectants. Starch tubes were fixed on the buccal surfaces of all teeth and restorations were made with glass ionomer cement. After waiting in a humid environment for 1 day, the tubes were removed, and thermal cycles were applied to the samples for 1000 cycles. Aged samples were placed in the microshear bond strength test device, and the fracture values were recorded by applying force at a speed of 1mm / min until fracture occurred. Fracture types were evaluated with a stereomicroscope at 40x magnification. Silver diamine fluoride showed the best remineralization efficiency (p <0.05). The remineralization efficiency of acidified phosphate fluoride was less than silver diamine and more than saline (p <0.05). It was found that chlorhexidine and sodium hypochlorite did not affect the bond strength, and the bond strength of the group using chlorhexidine and silver diamine fluorine increased (p <0.05). The most common fracture type was the adhesive type. It was found that cavity disinfectant and remineralization agents did not affect fracture (p <0.05).
