Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between deceleration performance after maximal speed, CMJ, and DJ and compare it with deceleration performance values after a short-distance sprint. Method: 15 young male football players playing football in the under 19 (U19) category of Fenerbahçe Sports Club Super League football team participated in the study voluntarily. The participants' maximal running performances were taken with anthropometric measurements on the first day, deceleration performances on the second day, and jumping performances on the third day. Each participant tried 3 times and the best was evaluated. Deceleration performances were recorded with a camera and the stopping distance was determined. Results: Short-distance deceleration performance was positively correlated with active jump-average concentric power and average concentric force, while deceleration performance at maximal speed was negatively correlated with active jump-reactive force index. While the relationship between short-distance deceleration performance and depth jump parameters could not be determined, a large negative correlation was determined between maximal deceleration performance and concentric impulse of depth jump and concentric phase duration. It was observed that the 20 m deceleration performances of the athletes were related to active jump concentric average power and average force, but not to depth jump parameters. It was observed that the deceleration performance of the athletes at maximal speed was related to CMJ RSImod, DJ Impcon and t. Conclusion: There is no difference in the ability to display deceleration between the deceleration performance of athletes after their maximal speed and the 20 m deceleration performance. However, it is thought that the deceleration work of athletes after their maximal speed will reduce the risk of injury since it requires more loading demands.
