Abstract (EN)

The stopping distance of the vehicles in traffic; It is one of the main parameters affecting the loss of life and property and traffic safety. stopping distance; It consists of many different parameters, especially variables such as braking system, road conditions, reaction time, and can take different values. The brake system has a vital importance in the safety systems of vehicles. Stopping the vehicle, which is one of the three basic functions of the braking system, is affected by many variables.Unevenness and potholes on the road, tire pressure of the vehicle, etc. parameters have a great influence on the stopping distance of the vehicle. In this research, it was tried to experimentally reveal the differences in the stopping distance of the vehicle by simulating potholes, bumps and rough roads under different conditions. The research is important in terms of determining the current situations in vehicle safety, contributing to developments in many important issues such as ease of driving in vehicles, improvement of stopping distances, life and property safety. The research is an experimental study. The data of the experimental studies were determined by the half vehicle model. Based on these data, it was examined how the stopping distance of the vehicle changes according to different conditions. As a result of the research, it was seen that high unevenness at low speed reduces the braking distance.
