Abstract (EN)

iSUMMARYThis in vitro study aimed to search, five different soft denture linersusing cell culture technique on L929 mouse fibroblast cells, by MTT assay, in termsof cytotoxicity. The study evaluated the cytotoxic effects of room temperaturepolymerized acrylic soft liners Visco-gel (Dentsply, UK) and Coe-Soft (GCAmerica In, USA), room temperature vulcanized silicone soft liners Ufi Gel P(Voco, Germany) and Softliner (Promedica, Germany), heat vulcanized silicone softliner Molloplast-B (Buffalo, USA) at 24, 48, 72 and 96 h incubation periods. MTTassay was repeated 3 times in all groups in order to achieve significative statisticalanalysis. Statistical analysis of results was performed using repeated measuresANOVA, one way ANOVA, Tukey?s test, perfect Chi-square test and Cochran Qtest. The results indicated significantly high cytotoxic effect for Coe-Softat all incubation periods; although no cytotoxic effect for Softliner was presented for24, 48 and 72 h periods, it have been arised at 96 h incubation period; except forSoftliner, time depended changes in cytotoxic effects of soft denture liners was notsignificant. Visco-gel, Ufi Gel P and Molloplast-B groups were not cytotoxic at allincubation periods.
