Sebk-i Hindi in Fehîm-i Kadîm Dîvân

In this study, it is aimed to examine the Fehîm-i Kadîm Divan in terms of its sebk-i Hindi features. The study consists of introduction, two main parts and conclusion. In the introduction, information about the classical, local-folkloric, hikemi styles and the development of sebk-i Hindi in Persian and Turkish literature is given. In addition, the life, literary personality and works of Fehîm-i Kadim are introduced. In the first chapter, which is devoted to language features, phrases, compound structures, deviations in the language of poetry, homophones and polysemy elements, ordering of adjectives, elements of the folk language, repetitions, changes in the vocabulary are examined. In the second chapter, which deals with semantic features, subjects such as similes, metaphors, metonym, renewed propositions, elements that provide richness of association, proofs, exaggerations, and paradox are discussed. In the third part, subjects such as suffering, daily life, mysticism and frequently used concepts are emphasized, and structures that have an important function in ensuring originality are examined. As a result, the following features of the Indian style have been identified in the Fehîm divan: Using long phrases and compound structures frequently, expressing a lot with few words by subtracting and bringing evidence, including deviations from the classical style, using elements of the folk language from time to time, changing the vocabulary, and some features such as preferring individual uses have been determined. In terms of meaning, implicit similes are used more compared with open similes, and originality is largely provided through closed metaphors. In addition, depth has been obtained in dreams by means of exaggeration. It has been determined that the dominant theme in the Divan is suffering and that daily life is a source for new propositions. Mystical subjects, on the other hand, take place in poetry both openly and implicitly. In addition, concepts like fire, wonder, Moses, Tur and manifestation are frequently used. As a result, it has been determined that the Divan of Fehîm-i Kadîm largely reflects the characteristics of sebk-i Hindi. Key words: Sebk-i Hindi, Fehîm-i Kadîm, divan poetry, style.
