Abstract (EN)

In the present study the outcome of the patients with femoral neck fractures who treated cannulated screws and dynamic hip screw-plate. We evaluated 38 cases between September (2005) to June (2009), that admitted to Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinic of Medical Faculty of Dicle University because of a fracture of the femural neck. Twenty of them were fixed with cannulated screws whereas eightteen of them were fixed with dynamic hip screw (DHS).There were 16 female (42,1 %) and 22 male (57,9 %). The average age was 37,13 (17-64). Distribution of fractures according to Garden classification was 6 (%15,8) type I, 6 (%15,8) type II, 15 (%39,5) type III and 11 (%28,9) type IV. Average follow up period was 18,05 months (2-57). The mean time between the injury and the operation was 3,8 days (1-X). Pain, walking and function were rated on a ten-point scale using the Salvati-Wilson hip rating system. Groups also avascular necrosis, nonunion and failure such as complications due to, going to the revision were evaluated. In the DHS group, according to Salvati-Wilson of the hip joint the evaluation criteria of our eight patients (44.4%) were very good, five (27.8%) were good, five (27.8%) were evaluated as fair. 9 patients in this group of patients (50%) required revision was needed. At cannulated hip screw group, according to the Salvati-Wilson evaluation criteria, 13 of our patients (65%) were very good, 5 (25%) were good, two (10%) have been assessed as medium. 7 of the patients in this group (35%) required revision was needed.In femoral neck fracture compare with multiple cannulated screws detection methods and with DHS detection methods, the basis of the results we see no significant difference.
