The trancription and evaluation of Filibeli Ahmet Hilmi Efendi's Akvam-i Cihan (I. and II. volume)

This study includes transcription and evaluation of two volumes of Akvamı-ı Cihan witten by Ahmet Hilmi Efendi. The aim of this study is to reveal the geographical, sociological, anthropological and historical importance of Filibeli Ahmet Hilmi Efendi, one of the most important representatives of the Ottoman intellectual class, and to present it to the reader. Filibeli Ahmet Hilmi Efendi gives detailed information about the living nations of both Asia and Africa continent in this book which consists of 2 volumes. Especially the information he gives about Turkish tribes and societies are very valuable in terms of Turkish history. It also sheds light on the culture and history of the period by supporting this information with photographs. Considering these aspects, the value of the work will be better understood.
