Abstract (EN)

Soil-structure interaction studies could be carried out effectively using finite element analysis softwares, which employs certain soil parameters obtained from field and/or laboratory as input. The objective of the present study is to investigate (i) the use of geotextile in road subbase constructions, and (ii) the effect of jet grouting (vertical, inclined) applications on soil-structure interactions for the structures in Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone. Firstly, the influence of axial rigidity of geotextile to be used in a road subbase on the maximum total soil settlement, and bearing capacity of geotextile is studied by PLAXIS finite element analysis software. It was observed that increase in the axial rigidity causes decrease in the maximum total soil settlement and increase in axial bearing capacity of the geotextile. Secondly, the influence of the jet grout column diameter and length changes on the maximum soil settlement and effective stress values was studied. From the PLAXIS analysis results, an increase in diameter and length decreased the maximum soil settlement. It was also seen that there is a direct proportion between effective stress and diameter of jet grout column, while an inverse proportion with its length. Besides, scanning electron microscopy images of geotextile samples were illustrated in the present study.
