Content analysis of Giuseppe Gariboldi's Die Ersten Übungen für Flöte etude book used in flute education

In this research, it is aimed to determine the technical and musical characteristics of the etudes in the Die Ersten Übungen Für Flöte etude book of Giuseppe Gariboldi, which is among the etude books widely used by flute educators in flute education, by making content analysis. In this descriptive study, since the due diligence of the document examined using the content analysis technique was made, the tonal structure, total number of measures in the etudes included in the Die Ersten Übungen Für Flöte etudes book of 58 etudes, which consists , they were classified and categorized according to articulations, velocity and nuance terms, musical expression terms, ornaments, other musical terms (puandorg, repetition brackets) and other technical studies (trilogy, arpeggio, chromatic transition scales, etc.) categorized. Each study in the study book was analyzed separately with the content analysis technique according to the specified criteria, and the findings were presented and interpreted through tables by giving frequency (f) and percentage (%) values. According to the results of the research; It has been determined that it contains 18 different tones, 6 different measurement units, 5 different articulations, 26 different speed terms, 13 different nuance terms, 14 different musical expression terms, 3 different musical terms, 3 different ornament techniques, 7 different technical studies. In addition, in the distribution of etudes have the highest ratio C major and G major tones; 4/4 and 2/4 measurement units; legato and staccato articulations; moderato speed term; piano, crescendo and decrescendo nuance terms; the term dolce musical expression; the term music of puandorg and it has been determined that the spacing studies classified within other technical studies are included.
