Abstract (EN)

Brushless DC Motors, today, have been very important because of high efficiency, high moment, silent operation and being easily controlled. Though electromagnetic structure of brushless motors are similar to synchronous machines, they have trapezoidal induced voltage wave forms. Advantages of brushless DC motor that result from its structure can be listed as: high efficiency because of permanent magnets, robust structure because of size and weight, low noise, no brushes, low maintenance and easy control. Brushless DC motors with permanent magnets have a wide application field because of their high power densities and being controlled easily as mentioned above. In this study, basic concepts of brushless motors are analyzed, information is given on structure of motor, sensor types and its operating principle, and dsPIC30f module used for motor speed control and PI and PID control are explained. Consequently, in order to bring steady-state motor speed error to zero and to get faster response time, PI and PID controller are designed with the help of experimental result of open loop response, and the real time speed control of BLDC motor with designed controllers is done by using dsPIC30f module. Experimental results are presented.KEYWORDS: Brushless DC Motor (BLDC), dsPIC30f, PI and PID control
