Abstract (EN)
This work; It was conducted to contribute and guide the holistic health of athletes by looking at their effects on nutrition knowledge, hydration status and burnout in athletes. 25 football players with an average age of 24.20±3.59 years who play for Karacabey Belediyespor, a 2nd League football club, participated in the research voluntarily. In addition to the General Information Form, which includes 19 questions and demographic information, the research includes; The Sports Nutrition Knowledge Scale, consisting of 68 items developed by Trakman et al. (2017) to evaluate sports nutrition and adapted to Turkish by Çakır O. and Çakıroğlu P., and adapted to athletes by Raedeke and Smith (2001), based on Maslach's (1981) Burnout Scale. The Burnout Scale, which was adapted into Turkish by Kelecek et al. and consists of 13 items in total, with 2 items removed, was used. The athletes' skinfold thicknesses were taken from 7 regions (biceps, triceps, abdominal, subscabula, chest, suprailiac, thigh) from the left side of the subject with a 50 mm scale Seahan Plastic Caliper. The athletes' body fat ratios were calculated using Zorba's Body Fat Ratio equation (1989). The data obtained was analyzed with the Spss 26 package program. Mann Whitney U test was used to compare two groups, and Kruskal Wallis test was used to compare more than two groups. Correlation test was used to explain the relationship between variables. As a result of the analysis, the average score of the football players from the sports nutrition knowledge scale was found to be 31.29±9.76 with low knowledge level, 23 of the football players had low knowledge level, and 2 of them had average knowledge level. There was no significant difference between the sports nutrition knowledge scale and its sub-dimensions and burnout level. (p> 0.005) The average burnout was found to be 27.56. Hydration status was calculated by taking the weight differences before and after training, and it was seen that 17 of the football players were in good dehydration and 8 were in minimal dehydration. There was no significant difference between athlete nutrition knowledge and hydration status, or between burnout and hydration status. (p> 0.005) In conclusion; It was observed that athletes' nutritional knowledge levels were low, but lack of knowledge did not cause burnout, and dehydration was observed but was not associated with burnout.
