Investigation the effect of physical condition and technical features on soccer success (Example of Turkey Super League)

Soccer is the most popular sport among sports organizations all over the world. Knowing the scientific bases of soccer is very important for the development of football. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of some statistical datas in terms of technical and conditional features on soccer success. The effects of various statistical data on the performances of the teams in the last 3 seasons on the scores they received at the end of the season were examined. Average of teams per game; total running distances (TRD), sprint distances (SD), high intensity running distances (HIRD), shot per game (SPG), Number of accurate passes per game (NAPPG), pass percentage per game (PPPG), number of key pass per game (NKPPG) and the possession of the ball (PB) on the total points (TP) collected at the end of the season were examined. SPG, NAPPG PPPG, NKPPG and PB are taken as technical features, while TRD, SD and HIRD are taken as conditional features. SPSS22 package program was used to analyze the data. When the findings were analyzed, there was no relation between the total scores for any season in the conditional parameters, whereas a high and very high level of positive correlation was found in the technical parameters (p<0.05). Similarly, it was observed that there was no statistically significant difference in the effect of conditional properties on total score at the end of the season, while the technical characteristics constituted a statistically significant prediction (p<0.05). As a result, Considering the last 3 seasons in Turkey Super League; it was observed that the technical features affect the success positively, whereas the conditional features were not determinant in the success. It's believed that team which wants to be successful in Turkey Super League should work toward the development of the technical characteristics of the team contribute to collecting more points.
