Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of geographically marked products on the creation of gastronomic identity in Ankara Province. The universe and sample of the research consists of 255 hotel customers who stayed at the Thermal Resort Hotel in the Kızılcahamam region of Ankara and the Lakeside Resort Hotel in the Gölbaşı region of Ankara between October 15, 2021 and November 15, 2021. Within the scope of the research, the expressions in the scale of the Effect of Geographically Indicated Products on the Creation of Gastronomic Identity developed by Özkan (2019) were updated with the information specific to the province of Ankara and applied to the participants via Google Forms. The analysis of the data obtained was made in the SPSS 26 program and the demographic information of the participants, their views on the gastronomic products with geographical indication in Ankara, the effect of gastronomic products with geographical indications on the city and the effect of gastronomic products with geographical indications on the awareness of the city were evaluated in tables. presented as While determining whether the participants' views on the impact of geographically indicated gastronomic products on the city differ according to demographic characteristics, first of all, whether the data showed a normal distribution was calculated with the skewness-kurtosis values from the central tendency and dispersion measures, and was determined by drawing a histogram graph. In other analyzes, the Mann-Whitney U Test was used to compare two groups, and the Kruskal-Wallis Test, which is not a parametric method and is the equivalent of the ANOVA test, was used to compare more than two groups. As a result; Among the gastronomic products that come to mind when Ankara is mentioned, the first three products with the most awareness are listed as Ankara Bagel (26%), Ankara Doner (20.5%), and Beypazarı Dried (15.3%). It was determined that 85.9% of the participants did not know about Erkeç Pastrami.
