Ghazatnamah of Halid b. Velid (Research, text, index)

This study consists of transcription, grammar, copy of old text and index of the work of "Gazaawat al Khalid ibn al-Walid = The Holy Wars of Khalid ibn al-Walid", registered at number 06 Mil Yz A 1930 in Ankara National Library Manuscripts Collection, and written by Haji Mehmed Effendi in the year Hijri 1051 ( in mid-December 1641). This text which is a type of gazaawatnama was written in the form of a mixture of verse-prose and covers the subjects regarding the holy wars of Hadrat Khalid ibn al-Walid during the Caliphate of Hadrat Omar and the conquest of the Persian region of the Muslim armies under the command of other Ashab al-Kiram. While the work bears the linguistic features of the 17th century, it also contains archaic elements from Old Anatolian Turkish and Old Turkish. After revealing the content, and the way the subjects are covered, this work whose linguistic features and how the original and unique use of Turkish during this period have been ascertained, comprises the introduction, grammatical examination, transcripted text and index. Thanks to the study of this work of "Gazaawat al Khalid ibn al-Walid- (The Holy Wars of Khalid ibn al-Walid)", it has been aimed to incorporate this work into literature and help researchers of the Turkish language benefit from it in their studies.
