Biologic features of pinus SSP. species cultivated and spreading in Gaziantep

11 ABSTRACT BIOLOGIC FEATURES OF PINUS SSP. SPECIES CULTIVATED AND SPREADING IN GAZİANTEP FIRAT, Şeydi M.Sc. in Biology Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf ZEYNALOV September 2004, 90 pages The study was carried out between 2002 and 2004 on determining and examining of bioecologic features of natural and cultivated Pinus sps. species spreading central and the other regions of Gaziantep province. Periodic field surveys were performed to the study area; the collected specimens were prepared as herbarium materials. As a result of these diagnostic studies; 6 Pinus ssp. species were identificated. In addition; 2 species were natural and 4 species were cultivated. These species both of Monteri pine {Pinus radiate D. Don.) and Scotch pine {Pinus sylvestris L.) were cultivated to the Botanic Garden of Gaziantep University. As a result of this study; Pinus ssp. species is germinations, roots and stems growing features were observed. Key words: Pinus, introduction, bioecology, Gaziantep
