Abstract (EN)
Antigens and their derivatives, which trigger the immune system and cause allergic reactions, are called allergens. Many volatile allergens are water-soluble proteins or glycoproteins, usually between 15 and 50 kDa. To date, allergen proteins from many different sources have been purified and identified. Almost anything that has a protein structure can show allergenic properties and every allergen source can contain a large number of allergic structures. Within the scope of this study, the concentrations of protein which may be allergenic to the pollen of Morus alba L., Quercus robur L. and Paulownia tomentosa widely used for landscaping in Gaziantep province were investigated. Pollen samples were collected and extracted during dissemination periods (April to May). Concentrations of extracted pollen proteins were determined and compared to protein concentrations of standard allergen kits ready for use in clinical practice. The results were recorded for evaluation. BCA Protein Assay Kit was used to determine pollen protein concentrations. In the study carried out in accordance with the protocol of the kit, the solutions prepared by diluting pollen specimens were measured with a 562 nm wavelength spectrophotometer (Thermo Multiskan Go) and concentrations (μg / ml) were determined by the equation.
