Gazneliler Döneminde Herat

One of the most important centers of Turkish Islamic culture and civilization in Turkistan is Herat city of Afghanistan, It is home to numerous historical and cultural values and embraces many cultures. Due to its geographical location, climate and cultural heritage, this city has been named as the "Pearl of Khorasan" in the historical process. Herat is called and highlighted as the life source of Asia due to its commercial-economic mobility and gateway to Turkistan, India and Iran. Herat, which has a strategic importance depending on its ecological and geographical factors, is known as a center of prosperity and civilization throughout history, It is described by medieval geographers as the "Khorasan's Garden", "King of the Region", and "Pupil of the world cities". Apart from these developments, the city has revealed many sciences, politics, religion and art personalities, throughout the history, Turkish-Islamic culture and civilization has been a geography of the famous names of the cradle. Due to its location in Turkistan, the city has been invaded many times and the remains of many nations, cultures and civilizations have come to our age. The first activity of the Ghaznavids in Herat beginned with the activities of the Alptegin, a Turkish slave in the Samanids empire, and these activities transformed into influence with the power of Sabuktegin. Domination of Herat become the most glorious period together with Mahmud who came to power after Sabuktegin's successful activities in the Samanids empire. With the taking of Herat, Ghaznavids became a great power in this geography. The Seljuk threat along with Sultan Mesud period ended the existence of Ghaznavids in the city and the region has been left after the war to the rule of Musa Inanc Yabgu from the Seljuks. When the revolt of the Herat people during the reign of Sultan Mevdud did not yield, litrally or in full sense the result of the rebellion became to end the existence of Ghaznavids in the region.
