Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the religious, moral, and fundamental values presented in the issues of "Geçerken", a periodical published by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, between the years 2020 and 2022, within the context of religious education. The scope of the research is limited to the first twenty-seven issues of the magazine. The structural features of the journal, the determination of the values it contains and the evaluation of these values in the context of religious education were carried out using the document analysis method and the qualitative content analysis technique. The findings obtained through the study are presented in detail in the third section. According to the results, it was observed that the religious, moral, and fundamental values included in the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge curriculum are reflected and reiterated in various forms within the "Geçerken" magazine. In particular, values such as diligence, compassion, love, and benevolence are consistently emphasized in each issue. These values were found to align with those emphasized in the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge course curriculum, developed within the framework of the "Century of Türkiye Education Model" by the Ministry of National Education. Furthermore, it has been concluded that the magazine could serve as a beneficial resource for individuals and institutions engaged in non-formal religious education. In conclusion, "Geçerken" contributes to both formal and informal religious education as a supportive educational tool.
