Abstract (EN)

The use of the first known wedding dress reaches for Egypt history four thousand years ago. Wedding dresses vary according to religious belief of the society, culture structure and life conditions. The brides have used luxurious fabrics in various colors for their dresses in the wedding from the past to the present. First use of the white bridal dress is the palaces. According to the records, the woman wearing first white wedding dress is English Anne who was married with 12th Louis in 1499. The reason why acceptance of the white wedding dress is because it represents cleanliness, purity, nobility as well as it represents wealth, abundance. In this research, it is explained the historical evolution of the wedding dress and fabrics, materials used for a wedding dress. At the same time, it refers to explanations about the wedding dresses used in the weddings hold in the principal royal countries and it is also supported with the images in the research.
