The interaction between traditional media and new media examined in the context of the Gezi Park demonstrations

The objectives of this work are stated as follows; Canvasing the differences between traditional media and social media in regards to establishing the order of the day, analyzing their interaction and surveying individuals' communication channel selection criterias for gathering information about social events In addition to above mentioned objectives, also, canvasing the positioning, reliability and objectivity of the social media This thesis differentiates from the others because it deeply probes the interaction between traditional and social media regarding "Gezi Movement " This study consists of three sections; Main current media and traditional media as section one, Social media and related technologies and definitions as section two and examples from Facebook and Twitter as social media tools as section three This work is based on interview technique. Work universe consists of a 100 university students and graduates. Outcome of the 17 questions are grouped and presented.
