Abstract (EN)
Ship engine room has a detailed structure so that it should meet all the requirements related to operating conditions simultaneously. According to naval statistical analyses, one of the most important causes of shipwrecks is human error. Because of this reason, if precautions are not applied, both engine room?s complicated structure and human errors may cause bigger problems and engine breakdown which may lead to irreparable failure. Well-educated marine engineering operators and an effective expert system are necessary for early intervention to prevent all kinds of engine breakdown immediately. This study aims to manage troubleshooting in main engine auxiliary systems which cover cooling, lubricating and cooling oil and fuel systems. The study is also thought to be a good reference for maintenance processes for marine engineering operators.Breakdown of main engine equipment are examined and troubleshooting programme is developed for using C# to determine solution methods and causes of such breakdowns. This programme is applied to MAN B&W 7S50MC-C ship main engine auxiliary systems preferred by modern merchant ships commonly; in addition, MAN B&W 7S50MC-C ship main engine auxiliary pressure, heat and viscosity warning limiting values and ideal operating ranges are noted because this programme is used with these ranges and values. Developed programme will be integrated to engine room simulator system and will be used to educate marine engineering operators. The developed expert system will especially be used in critical operations and will provide advantage in manoeuvring positions and voyages in critical waters.
